cts 2:42 tells us that the fledgling Church devoted itself to the apostles teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and also to prayer. Grace Evangelical Church features three main prayers in our Sunday morning worship service:
- an invocation, in which the Minister of the Word calls on the Lord to attend and bless the service;
- a prayer of confession, in which the Minister of the Word leads the congregation in asking the Lord’s forgiveness of our sin, both privately and publicly; and
- a congregational prayer, in which an elder, on behalf of the congregation, offers thanksgiving for the Lord’s blessings, and petitions for the needs of the congregation and the Church at large.
Examples of congregational prayers from past worship services are included below. Each link will open in a separate window.
